Terms and conditions Privacy policy
1. Terms and conditions
By using TimerDown (timerdown.com) you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What the service is
TimerDown lets you view, create and share countdowns to dates and events. With an account you can also publish your own events, share them with a link and confirm that you will attend other people's events. The service is offered for free, "as is", and may change, be paused or become unavailable at any time.
Your account
- You can sign in with your Google account or with a one-time code we email you. We do not use passwords.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for everything done with your account and for the display name you choose. Do not use someone else's name or pretend to be another person.
- We may suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to info@timerdown.com from the email address you sign in with.
Events created by users
- Whoever creates an event is its organizer and is solely responsible for it (date, place, links and whatever happens at the event). TimerDown does not organize, verify or endorse events created by users.
- Events are visible to anyone who has their link. The organizer can choose to show the address or the link of an online meeting only to people who confirm they will attend.
- Do not use TimerDown for scams, deceptive sales or charging fees, or to ask attendees for personal data or money.
- Anyone can report an event. An event with several reports is hidden automatically while we review it, and we may delete it.
Acceptable use
When creating or sharing content, you agree not to post:
- Illegal, offensive, discriminatory, violent or sexual content.
- Spam, misleading advertising or malicious links.
- Material that infringes copyright, trademarks or the privacy of other people.
- Code or attempts to harm, overload or breach the site.
- Impersonation, scams or fake events.
- Links or email addresses hidden in names or titles to trick other people.
We may remove content or restrict access for anyone who breaks these rules, without prior notice.
Your content
You are responsible for what you create (titles, descriptions, images). By posting it, you authorize us to display it within TimerDown. The names of movies, games or brands belong to their respective owners; TimerDown is not affiliated with them.
Accuracy of dates
Event dates are for information only and may change. We do not guarantee their accuracy: always confirm with the official source.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, TimerDown is not liable for damages arising from the use of the site, from service interruptions or from content created by users.
Changes
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date indicates the current version.
2. Privacy policy
What data we use
- Data in your browser: the events you follow, your favorites and your session (an identifier and your display name) are saved in the local storage of your own browser. You can delete them by clearing the site's data or by signing out.
- Account data (if you create one): your email and your display name. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email and profile photo with us; we use only the name and the email. Your email is never shown to other people.
- Events you publish: title, date, category, description, place or link, and your display name as the organizer. They are stored in our database and can be seen by anyone with the link (according to the event's privacy options).
- Attendance: if you tap "I'll be there", we save your confirmation. The organizer sees your display name, never your email. Other attendees only see how many people confirmed.
- Reports: if you report an event, we save the reason, your comment if you write one and, if you are signed in, your account, so we can review the case and prevent abuse.
- Emails we send you: only sign-in codes and notices about your account. We do not send advertising.
- Anonymous usage data: we use Microsoft Clarity and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used (pages visited, clicks, scrolling, device type and approximate location). These tools use cookies or similar technologies. When you react to an event (๐ ๐ ๐๐), your reaction is recorded anonymously and remembered only in your browser.
- Emails you send us: if you write to us, we use your email only to reply to you.
What we use it for
To make the site work, improve it and detect errors or abuse. We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Your account data, for as long as your account exists. If you delete an event, it is deleted together with its confirmations. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, your events and your confirmations within 30 days at most.
Who it is shared with
Only with the providers that make the site run, who process the data according to their own privacy policies:
- Supabase: database and accounts (servers in Sรฃo Paulo, Brazil).
- Google: sign-in with Google and Google Tag Manager.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: invisible check to stop bots when requesting a code.
- Hostinger: website hosting and sending emails.
- Microsoft Clarity: usage measurement (with email and name fields hidden).
Some of these providers may process data outside your country. If in the future we show ads, we will update this policy before doing so.
Your rights
You can change your display name from your account menu ("Edit my name") and delete your events from "My events". To access your data, correct it or delete your account, write to us at info@timerdown.com. You can also block cookies in your browser settings.
Minors
Accounts are only for people aged 16 or older. We do not intentionally collect data from anyone younger; if we find such an account, we delete it.
